Church History
The Stratford Christian Science Church dates back to 1897, when a small group met in a private home in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
In 1899 the Christian Science Society was formed and services were held in the Court Exchange Building. After fulfilling the necessary requirements, the First Church of Christ, Scientist, Bridgeport, Connecticut was established in December that year. This church was formally recognized as a branch of the Mother Church in January 1900. The Church grew over the years, and in 1958 it merged with the Second Church of Christ, Scientist, Bridgeport.
In 2007 we moved to our current Stratford location, just outside Bridgeport.
